Erase Layer dialog box

How to get there

Select a region of measures.
Choose Edit> Move/Copy Layers.
In the dialog box, specify that one layer’s contents be placed into a layer that already contains notes.
Click OK.

What it does

This alert appears if you choose to move or copy a layer into a layer that already contains notes. The alert warns you that you'd be copying over music that already exists.

OK • Cancel. Click OK to overwrite the existing notes in the target layer. Click Cancel to return to the score.

Tip: If you do remove music that you wanted to keep, choose Edit > Undo.
