Choose File > Export > SmartMusic®.

What it does

You can export your Finale document as any of three types of SmartMusic® accompaniments:

  • Assessment. Choose this option if you want SmartMusic to be able to provide an automatic performance assessment for your SmartMusic accompaniment. Automatic assessment listens to your solo performance and displays onscreen notes: green notes for correct performance, and red notes indicating incorrect pitch and/or rhythm.
  • Include Audio (Requires "Play Finale Through Audio Units"). Select this option to use the assigned Finale Audio Units playback sounds in your SmartMusic file, as well as any loaded audio track. When deselected, your SmartMusic file uses the default MIDIMIDI is a standardized protocol by which music applications, computers and MIDI instruments talk to each other. playback sounds.   • Ensemble. Choose this option to create a SmartMusic accompaniment for ensemble practice. Notes are not displayed on the screen and no assessment or following is available.
  • Solo. Choose this option to create a SmartMusic accompaniment for solo performance. Solos make use of the SmartMusic "Follow Me" feature (formerly called Intelligent Accompaniment) which automatically adjusts playback tempo by detecting your solo performance.
  • Display Solo Notation. Check this option to display the solo notes on the screen in a solo SmartMusic accompaniment.
  • Cancel • Back • Next. Click Next to continue to the next SmartMusic Accompaniment dialog box. Click Cancel to disregard any current selections and return to the score.
