Export SmartMusic Accompaniment - Select Solo Staff dialog box

How to get there

Choose File > Export > SmartMusic®.

What it does

When you create a solo or assessment SmartMusic accompaniment file, you must specify which staff will be the solo.

  • Solo Staff. Click this drop-down menu to choose the instrument that will be performing the solo. Finale uses information from the linked part to generate the solo. Only single-staff parts can be used as solo parts. To change the properties of a part, click the Manage Parts button. See Manage Parts dialog box.
  • Corresponding Instrument (or Closest Match) in SmartMusic. Click this drop-down menu to choose the instrument that most closely resembles that of the solo part. SmartMusic uses advanced pitch recognition technology to follow the solo performance. Because each instrument produces its own signature waveform, SmartMusic must know what type of instrument it will be following in order to ensure the most accurate response.
  • Back • Next • Cancel. Click Back to return to the previous SmartMusic Accompaniment dialog box. Click Next to continue to the next SmartMusic Accompaniment dialog box. Click Cancel to disregard any current selections and return to the score.
