Data Check submenu
The Data Check commands perform a variety of "housekeeping" tasks having to do with fonts and Finale's retention of deleted musical material.
- Font Utilities. Choose this command to open the Font Utilities dialog box, where you can inspect the font of every musical element in your piece.
- File Maintenance. Choose this command to open the File Maintenance dialog box, where you can remove deleted items from your document and test file integrity.
- Reconvert Percussion Note Types. Choose this command to open the Reconvert Percussion Note Types dialog box, where you can identify the definition of your converted percussion instruments and then assign them to the appropriate Percussion MIDI MapA Percussion MIDI Map is simply a list that matches each percussion instrument in a sound library with a particular MIDI note number (e.g. bass drum = 36, snare drum = 38, etc.). These maps are required to properly assign the same percussion notation to various playback devices, and are also used to accommodate the many different percussion sound banks that can be used for input with an external MIDI device..
