Change submenu

Use the commands in this submenu to change certain aspects of a selected region all at once.

  • Articulations. Choose this command to display the Change Articulation Assignments dialog box, where you can adjust the positions of all (or specific) articulation marks in a region. You can also use this command to swap one symbol for another or make articulations adhere to stacking definitions from the Articulation Designer dialog box.
  • Chords. Choose this command to display the Change Chord Assignments dialog box, where you can change the visual display or playback attributes of chord symbols in the selected region.
  • Expressions. Choose this command to display the Change Expression Assignments dialog box, where you can adjust the positions of all (or specific) expressions in a region. You can also use this command to swap one expression marking for another.
  • Lowest Fret. Choose this command to display the Change Lowest Fret dialog box, where you can recalculate the fret numbers of a selected TAB staff region to appear no lower than a specific fret.
  • Note Durations. Choose this command to display the Change Note Durations dialog box, where you can halve or double the note values in a selected region, in effect re-notating the same passage to last twice (or half) as long. Finale even rebars the affected passage, if you wish, to place the correct number of notes in each affected measure.
  • Note Size. Choose this command to display the Change Note Size dialog box, where you can change the size of the notes in the selected region to create items like cue notes.
  • Noteheads. Choose this command to display the Change Noteheads dialog box, where you can specify which noteheads in the selected region you want to exchange for different noteheads.
  • Ties. Choose this command to display the Change Ties dialog box, where you can change tie settings of a region of music, such as the tie direction, breaking for time and key signatures and avoiding staff lines.
  • Tuplets. Choose this command to display the Change Tuplets dialog box, where you can change the appearance and definition of all tuplets in the selected region of music.
