Save As
        How to get there
From the File Menu, choose Save As. (If
you haven’t yet saved the document for the first time, you can choose
Save from the File Menu instead.)
        What it does
In this dialog box you can specify what
kind of file you want to create and in which folder SongWriter should
 save it.

            - Save As.
In this text box, enter a title for the new file. If there’s already a
file with the same title in this folder, SongWriter will ask you if you
want to replace it with the new file.
- Format: Finale
Notation File · Standard MIDI file. Click this popup menu to select the
format of the file you are saving. The default setting, Finale Notation
File, is SongWriter’s native format. Select Finale Notation File if you
want to create a standard notation document. Select Standard MIDI file
if you want to create a MIDI file from your document, which can be read
 by sequencer programs.
- Where. SongWriter
displays the name of the folder you’re viewing. Click on the folder name
to change which folder to save the file in.
- [Expand arrow].
Click the arrow to the right of the “Where” popup menu to display the
folder list and the following options.
- Append File Extensions. Check this box to include file extensions onto the end of saved file names(i.e. .MUS).

- New
Folder. Click the New button to create a new folder inside the
current folder, disk or hard drive.
- Save.
Click Save (or press return) to create a new file of the title
and type you’ve specified in this dialog box.
- Cancel.
Click Cancel to return to the score without creating a new file.
