Harmonic analysis
Chord symbols can be used to create analytical roman numerals and inversions.
- Choose the Chord tool
. The Chord menu appears, and two small triangles appear at the left edge of the screen which control the baseline of the chords (against which the bottom edges of the symbols line up).
- Drag the left arrow to the vertical position at which you would like to place the figured bass symbols.
- Choose Chord > Roman Chord Style.
- Enter chords using Chord > Type Into Score as you would normally (see To enter chords (Type Into Score).
- After typing the root, type “:0” (colon zero) and press RETURN. The Chord Suffix Selection dialog box appears where you can select the desired inversion.
