Audio Files
You can save a PrintMusic document as a standard AIFF file or as a compressed MP3 file. PrintMusic generates the audio file based on the audio device you've specified for playback. If PrintMusic is set to Play Through MIDI, PrintMusic exports the MIDI performance of your document using a General MIDI soundfont named synthgms.sf2. If PrintMusic is set to Play Through Audio Units, PrintMusic exports the performance of the Audio Units instruments you've chosen in the Audio Units Instruments dialog box.
- Review playback. The audio file created by PrintMusic is generated from the MIDI performance, so changes to the document’s MIDI data will apply to the generated audio file.
Human Playback settings apply to saved audio files, so all generated audio files sound the same as the document played from PrintMusic.
Note: When playing through Audio Units, PrintMusic can only save an uncompressed AIFF file.
- Choose File > Export to Audio File. The Save As Audio File dialog box appears.
- Choose the destination folder and click Save. PrintMusic generates the audio file and saves it to the specified folder.
